Hey I am still the same about DC Talk as well. The three were awesome. I do like some of Toby’s new stuff and even less of Kevin’s and Tate’s. I do wish they would get back together – I mean hey they could still do the Solo stints! I love the song they got together and recorded for 911 – “Let’s Roll” My daughter who is in high school likes dc talk and loves TOBY MAC!

Also a couple of years ago I won on ebay an actual real not photo-stat copy of their first promo pic promoting HEAVENBOUND and each have signed it. It is so awesome!

you’re my friend…but that will not stop me from harassing you for this shameless promotion of DC Talk. you should be embarrassed. i’ll give you enjoying these things in their prime…briefly…but now you’re grown up with a family no less and you STILL brag on DC Talk??? it’s not the same as my mom telling me that music isn’t the same since elvis, cash, and hank sr. that’s classy and respectable…

Yeah, kind of saddens me too, sis. Actually, the last two songs that got cut from the list were from Free at Last…”The Hardway” and “Say The Words”. “Time is Tickin” and “Lean On Me” were also on the original short list.

Joy Jam – I absolutely could not remember the name of that event! I just knew it was in Cardinal Stadium. And I remember that’s where I heard the song “Jesus Freak” for the very first time, they did it live before the album came out. That was an awesome concert.

But also, I think the list is a testament to the fact they just kept getting better, because Free At Last was an awesome album. But Jesus Freak was an amazing album from the first to the last song. Supernatural, although there are a couple of songs on there I don’t like (Fearless, The Truth), has a few songs that are definitely as good or better than any on Jesus Freak.

I am saddened that only one song from your top twelve list was from Free at Last. That was my favorite album. I can recite all those from memory. I’ll never forget Joy Jam at Cardinal Stadium when we were right up at the stage. That was the best concert I ever went to.

You should know that Bill was at their show and Kevin held the microphone to his mouth and he actually sang in it. So you could say that one time Bill sang with DC Talk, but that would be stretching the truth a little bit. I could listen to the whole Free at Last album all day long.

Wow… I think I’ve heard like 3 of these… must have missed the boat. I will point out that “In the Light” is a Charlie Peacock song and I agree that it is awesome and I do like the DC Talk version.

And I might have rocked out a few times to “Jesus Freak” in the car but don’t expect me to blog about it.

My only good DC Talk story is that I saw Tait with his new band at Cornerstone Festival the year after DC Talk broke up and they opened with “Bulls on Parade” by Rage Against the Machine and did a bunch of secular covers (at the end of the show, Kevin Max showed up and they did some DC Talk stuff) and then after the show we saw a festival coordinator just going off on Tait for doing so much secular stuff. It was surreal… he was totally trashing him and was very, very annoyed.
